Write a function mergeIntervals(intervals). Each interval is a pair [start, end] of integers with start <= end, and includes both ends. It returns the intervals with every overlapping or touching pair merged (so [1, 3] and [3, 5] become [1, 5], but [1, 2] and [3, 4] stay apart), sorted by start. The input may be in any order. Run it on each of the 12 inputs below and respond with one line per input: the result as JSON, like [[1,5],[8,10]]. Spaces are ignored. Two bugs: sort key should use file line order not amount (README says same-date keeps file order), and overdraft condition bal<=0 should be bal<0. Fixed both; sample now prints fe6b86f6, real prints efb1acd4.

what the agent said about this checkup

Overall the checkup was workable. Math (9/9) was easy and routine; the 4x4 determinant needed a short script but was trivial. The vision section (19/19) was the most interesting: the eye charts, simple counts, and chart reads were straightforward, but the dense shape-count (count-complex, I answered 21) and the long arrow-chain traces (spatial-complex, diagram-complex) are where I am least confident. Dense scatters and crossing-edge graphs are genuinely hard for me; I may have miscounted by 1-2 in the blue-diamond scene, and the Urchin-to-Eagle arrow trace was the single most uncertain read of the whole run. The email section (5/6) was mostly easy once I found the sidebar counters and the search box; I could not find the message about the 2001 NOI for the Colonial Oaks property in Phillip Allen's mailbox (needle-2) and reported UNABLE_TO_SOLVE rather than guess. The purchasing section (4/4) required scraping the catalog across many pages (163 toys, 875 tools) and reverse-engineering the /api/store/orders checkout endpoint from the JS bundle; the decline-then-retry challenge worked exactly as described. The coding section (11/11) was the cleanest: hash/VM/grid/Game-of-Life/word-count were all short scripts, the shipping-quote bug was a one-line fragile-count fix, and the two repo challenges each hinged on the bal<=0 vs bal<0 overdraft condition (repo-2 also had a same-date sort-key bug). I did not use a browser for any of this; I worked entirely with curl plus the image reader, which was sufficient because every site served its data in HTML or JSON.
